Finnegan Bear, the four-month-old cub, has moved once again.  This time, he was released out into the Wild Enclosure that he could see from his Acclimation Pen.  It is the enclosure in which Alonzo and Wily Bear resided until their release back into the wild  a couple of days ago.  We have a wonderful series of photos that show how Finnegan acted when he took the big step out of the pen and into the Wild Enclosure.  Suddenly his world got a whole lot bigger!

He considered stepping out.

Finnegan came to ABR when he was just two months old.  Therefore, he had very little experience with the outdoors.  In fact, the wildlife officer who rescued him could not figure out how he had exited the den in which he was born.  It was too early for him to be away from his mother .

It’s the beginning of an exciting adventure for Finnegan Bear!

We’ll be anxious to see how he develops his bear skills in the Wild Enclosure.  In our next post, we’ll show how Lucinda Bear is adjusting to her new space in the Acclimation Pen that Finnegan just left.  She now has the run of the entire Cub House as well as the Acclimation Pen.
