Our little bears are staying close to each other these cold days (temps the last couple of nights in the single digits – Brrr!) as these new photos show.

The cubs in the den — Garland, Autumn, and Grayson — arrived at ABR in late 2011.  They have put on some fat since their arrival but as you can see, their fur is still showing the signs of earlier malnutrition.

It is starting to come back, though, and they certainly need it for warmth these days!

Our curator says that the yearlings are only coming out of their hidey-holes to grab a quick bite of food and quickly return to warmer quarters.

Can’t say we blame them!
